About Turtle Pond
Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre is a small wildlife rehabilitation centre located in Val Caron, Ontario, (Greater Sudbury, Canada). It was founded in 2017 and is a registered charity.
We are proud to accommodate most of Northern Ontario’s native wildlife species.
Dedicated to wildlife rehabilitation and care
At Turtle Pond Wildlife Centre we receive turtles for many reasons, but most often because they have been hit by cars. They may also come in because they are sick, caught in a trap, or have been hit with a boat propeller. They receive medication to manage pain and any infections that may occur, as well as professional veterinary care.
Although we specialize in turtles, we do take in all other species on a case by case basis. We also specialize in bats, and accommodate all other species whenever possible. If we cannot provide direct care, we will stabilize animals and arrange transport to other rehab facilities in Ontario if it is the best interest of the patient.

Near and far
In 2020, Turtle Pond unexpectedly became the sole authorized wildlife rehabilitation centre serving roughly 130,000 square kilometres of Northern Ontario. We have cared for animals from as far away as Kenora, Timmins, Manitoulin Island, Killarney and North Bay.
